Lucian Bute vs Jean-Paul Mendy Fight. The Super middleweight boxing fight between Lucian Bute and Jean Paul Mendy will be held on July 9 Bucharest, Romania. Bute will be going in to defend his crown for the eighth time but what will make it interesting is that this is the first time he is fighting at home.

Bute’s issue has been the lack of bouts recently and yet he will be a favourite. The reason for this is simple – his record versus his opponent’s record. Bute has won 28 matches without a loss to his name with 23 of those coming as knock-outs.

Mendy also goes in with a lossless record but his issue is that he is 37 and quickly approaching the fag end of his career. He has won 29 of his 30 fights with one draw and 16 as knock-out wins but there cannot be too many who will put him as a favourite to win it.

Mendy shouldn’t have even been there. He seemed to be going out in the very first round of his match-up against Sakio Bika but the opponent had to bite the dust when he hit Mendy while he as on the floor.
