The 2011 Rose Bowl, the 97th edition of the annual game, is a college football bowl game scheduled for Saturday, January 1, 2011, at the same-named stadium in Pasadena, California. The contest will feature the Wisconsin Badgers of the Big Ten Conference and the TCU Horned Frogs of the Mountain West Conference. The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association is the organizer of the game. Vizio Inc. of Irvine, California has signed a four-year contract to sponsor the Rose Bowl game, which will also include the 2014 BCS National Championship Game as well.
The contest will be televised on ESPN with a radio broadcast on ESPN Radio and XM Satellite Radio, which begins at 1:30 PM (PST) with kickoff at 2:10 PM (PST). Ticket prices for all seats in the Rose Bowl are listed at $145. This will mark the first time that the game dubbed "The Granddaddy of 'em All" will not be available on over-the-air (terrestrial) television in the game's history.
The Rose Bowl Game, themed Building Dreams, Friendships & Memories, is a contractual sell-out, with 64,500 tickets allocated to the participating teams and conferences. The remaining tickets go to the Tournament of Roses members, sponsors, City of Pasadena residents, and the general public. The Rose Bowl stadium capacity is listed at approximately 91,000 and only 88,500 seats are used for the Rose Bowl Game.
